Join renowned actor Stephen McGann (Call The Midwife, The Bill, Casualty, Emmerdale) for this BBC Radio 4 Charity Appeal in aid of Haemochromatosis UK.

Stephen talks about the charity's work to support people affected by genetic haemochromatosis, people like Lindsay.

"HEE-MO-CHROME-A-TOSIS. Haemo-what, you say?! Most of us have never heard of it. But it’s one of the most common genetic conditions in the UK. It usually goes undiagnosed. There are over 460,000 people at risk of ill health from haemochromatosis in the UK – that’s almost the population of the City of Liverpool, my hometown."

Can you help? A donation to Haemochromatosis UK from you will help the charity expand our counselling services and train a further 1,000 clinicians every year. Because early diagnosis really does save lives.

The appeal is broadcast live on BBC Radio 4 at the following times (GMT) :

  • Sunday 7th February at 7.54am
  • Sunday 7th February at 9.25pm
  • Thursday 11th February at 3.27pm

The appeal will be available for catch-up listening on the BBC Sounds app and on the BBC Radio 4 website, from 8am on Sunday 7th February 2021.

We are extremely grateful to Stephen for supporting us in this appeal.
