Lindsay was officially diagnosed with Haemochromatosis about 3 years ago, which for people unfamiliar with the genetic condition, is excessively high blood iron levels. Lindsay would attend hospital every two weeks to have some blood removed and this helped to bring down her iron levels over time (though by the time she passed away they were still really high).

Unfortunately high blood iron levels are a big risk factor for other complications, most notably liver disease.

Lindsay was admitted to hospital on Tuesday 12th May having not been feeling well, she was not in any pain or discomfort during her stay in hospital. Sadly 4 days later Lindsay passed away in her sleep, peacefully.

We are asking people to donate to this charity in memory of Lindsay, in the hope one day, more effective treatments, or even a cure can be found which can save lives and improve the quality of life this terrible condition causes.
