Last month we travelled across the Irish Sea to the Balmoral Show in Belfast to raise awareness of iron overload in one of the UK's GH hotspots.

This 4-day extravaganza of all things farming & rural is a key fixture in the NI social scene. Over 100,000 people attended, including local elected representatives and UK government ministers.
#TeamIronOverload spoke with over 3,000 people during the week. It was lovely to meet (unexpectedly) some of the people who we had screened in Derry-Londonderry and Carrickfergus, who stopped by to say thank you and lend their support.

We were delighted to be joined by local volunteers Finbar, Julie, Seamus, Cathy and Cora, who spoke with visitors and shared their experiences of GH.

We're planning similar events across the country over the next 18 months and are always on the lookout for more volunteers. If you're interested in getting involved, check out this volunteering role explainer and contact our Volunteering Manager Elizabeth.
