Ground Construction Limited have been awarded our prestigious Corporate Supporter of the Year award for 2019.

In September, the team at Ground Construction Limited held their annual charity golf day in aid of Haemochromatosis UK. GCL employ over 1,000 staff across the South East, many of celtic ancestry.

Over 150 players converged on leading golf course The Shire, the UK’s only course designed by Seve Ballesteros for a full day of sporting challenges. We were joined by a number of special guests, including players from Queens Park Rangers (who GCL sponsor) and sporting legends including Les Ferdinand. A wonderful day was had by all.

The GCL team raised  a magnificent £28,000 on the day from the charity auction, dinner/dance and course challenges like “Beat the Pro”.  Managing Director Trevor Divinney (pictured below, with our Chair of Trustees Corrina Towers) gave us a wonderful surprise—the GCL directors graciously doubled the money raised on the day and we were delighted to accept a cheque for £56,000 for our education programme.

We are tremendously grateful to Trevor and his team for such generous and thoughtful support of our work. We look forward to boosting our education project over the next two years as a result!
