I am taking part in GNR 2021 and running for my chosen charity Haemochromatosis UK.
Last year by sheer chance my husband was diagnosed with this condition. Had this not been discovered then I dread to think of the health consequences. At the moment due to covid, treatment has stalled and he's not receiving the help he needs. I want to help raise awareness. Haemochromatosis is not well known, but is one of the most common genetic conditions in the UK, where there is Iron Overload in the body.
It can be very serious if not correctly diagnosed, and it's difficult to diagnose because some of the symptoms are the same as having too little iron. Louise Harling
