Haemochromatosis is a genetic disorder causing the body to absorb an excessive amount of iron from the diet. This can lead to serious health complications if left untreated. Treatment includes regular blood monitoring and venesection.

In the last 12 years we have noticed that the profile and awareness of haemochromatosis has increased hugely.
This is largely down to the charity haemochromatosis UK, who have provided education and guidance for health professionals. We have been supported with e-learning modules and best practice guidance and educational posters and leaflets for our clinic and patients.
It is an absolute pleasure to be able to give back to the charity by running the London Vitality 10k.
