I had never heard of haemochromatosis until my dad and uncle recieved their diagnosis a few years ago. I am running to raise awareness and vital funds to support ongoing research for better genetic testing and treatments. Iron overload is very dangerous if left untreated and very difficult to diagnose as it relies on genetic testing. I recently tried to get testing through my GP and hit a total brick wall with them as it was so uncommon and unheard of.

This is my second time running the London landmarks half which is a great event but I haven’t ran for nearly 2 years since I completed it last time so the next few months training is going to be painful!!

Any donations are greatly appreciated. Kira Drabble
