I am completing this 10km run to not only fundraise, but also enhance awareness of this condition which has such a great cost/impact to many people when not recognised, diagnosed and treated early. Early diagnosis and treatment can help reduce/avoid long term, unnecessary complications such as disability which can massively impact quality of life.

Haemochromatosis is a genetic condition resulting from an excess of iron which is toxic to the body. This condition affects people in different ways. Symptoms can include: arthritis, chronic fatigue, weakness, lethargy, abdominal pain, neurological/psychological problems, menstruation problems, changes to skin, heart disease, diabetes, pituitary and adrenal issues e.g. Addison's disease, liver problems (including cancer), hair loss.

This is a big challenge for me to complete and I would appreciate any support you can give.
