Join us as a volunteer for a day at the 2024 Balmoral Show to help save lives and prevent ill-health from iron overload in families across Northern Ireland.

We are now a regular presence with our exhibition stand at the Balmoral Show reaching thousands of people raising awareness of genetic haemochromatosis (GH), and talking with families diagnosed or to people experiencing typical symptoms associated with iron overload. Without the help of people like you volunteering we simply can't reach everyone we want to. Our local screening has found as many as 1 in 10 people with increased risk of iron overload because of their underlying genetics yet less than 5% of people are likely to know their risk. Our recent awareness campaign "Haemochromatosis, funny word. serious condition" has seen a massive increase in awareness so we expect to be even busier this year that before.

There will be time during your volunteering to experience something of Northern Ireland's premier agricultural show.

The Show takes place from Wednesday 15th to Saturday 18th May. Get in touch with [email protected] to express an interest with your preference of day(s) for volunteering or any questions you may have. Anyone who has volunteered before is very welcome to return.
