Over 1,000 patients, carers, and families came together at the QE2 Conference Centre in Westminster for Haematology Patient Congress, the UK’s largest patient-focused haematology event in early May.

It was great meeting so many HUK members & new iron overload friends. Our thanks to Vik, our specialist advisory nurse and Neil Harper, conference & events volunteer for staffing our stand and greeting the many guests so warmly.

We made lots of news friends, including members of the sickle cell & thalassemia communities, whose treatment causes iron overload (sometimes called "secondary haemochromatosis").

There was much interest in the charity's MyIron+ app to help manage iron overload, in all its manifestations.
