MyIron+ the iron overload app is being updated this month with new features and enhancements. 

The app, launched in June 2023, has already been installed thousands of times by people affected by genetic haemochromatosis. Initial projections of usage have already been exceeded five-fold in the first few months of release. The app is in regular use in over 12 countries including the UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada and as far away as Brazil.

The January release, available for Apple (IOS) and Android smartphones and tablets includes the following enhancements :

  • Automatic reminders to add blood test results after 3 months
  • Ability to record serum ferritin (SF) without transferrin saturation (TSAT)
  • Ability to delete blood test results
  • Addition of extra genetic types, including S65C and moleculary undefined
  • Addition of venescetion volume to summary screen
  • Ability to record historic venesections prior to current date
  • Improved message notifications
