On Friday 6 September 2019 Ground Construction Limited (GCL) held a Charity Golf Day at The Shire Golf Course.

GCL has been a strong supporter of Haemochromatosis UK, and took part in The Iron Games 2018 and 2019. This year, GCL held their Charity Day in aid of Haemochromatosis UK (HUK) – raising further funds for the Genetic Haemochromatosis Education Programme.

The day was brilliantly organised by the GCL team, and in attendance were also many famous faces! Throughout the day, attendees spoke to our Chief Executive and our Education manager about haemochromatosis, learning about the condition, our work and the difference that the Charity Golf Day would make in raising awareness about haemochromatosis.

Managing director of Ground Construction Limited, Trevor Diviney commented:

“We (GCL) are delighted to be associated with Haemochromatosis UK charity and help raise awareness of the condition and effects that are caused. A big thank you goes to all those who helped raise a massive amount of money on our golf day for the charity including all the sponsors, auction prize buyers and the players on the day”.

When speaking about the event, Neil McClements, CEO of HUK said:

“The event in aid of Haemochromatosis UK was a triumph. Our deep thanks to Trevor Diviney and his team for staging such a successful event. It’s was a joy to see everyone enjoying themselves so much, in aid of our community. Education Manager Sam and I had the privilege of speaking with many of the players about haemochromatosis, including 3 special surprise guests. The level of interest and concern was heart-warming. In one or two cases, we’ve also been able to provide some support and advice on next steps to people in need too.”
