We're pleased to announce the publication of three brand new resources, to help people affected by genetic haemochromatosis.

Genetic Haemochromatosis – An Iron Overload Disorder

We've developed a totally new introduction to genetic haemochromatosis. This 24 page guide covers the genetics of haemochromatosis, symptoms and typical care pathways.

This guide was totally re-written by Haemochromatosis UK’s CEO Neil McClements and Registered Genetic Counsellor Helen Bethell, of the NHS Northern Genetics Service and features contributions from Dr Bill Griffiths (Consultant Hepatologist, Addenbrookes Hospital), Martin Johnson (Emeritus Professor of Nursing, University of Salford) and members of our Clinical Advisory Panel.

Healthy Eating and Genetic Haemochromatosis

This guide replaces our previous, popular publication on diet. Totally revised and up-to-date, this guide explains how diet can help manage iron levels in people with genetic haemochromatosis. It was written by Harriet Smith and Robin Wright, both Registered Dietitians and reviewed by our Clinical Advisory Panel.

Coronavirus & Genetic Haemochromatosis

We have distilled the many resources in our popular Coronavirus Resource Hub into a single guide. It covers the practical aspects of living well with genetic haemochromatosis during the CV19 outbreak. This includes the latest details of blood donation arrangements across all nations of the UK. This publication has been reviewed by our Clinical Advisory Panel and produced with the generous support of the Scottish Government #WellbeingFund and National Lottery CV19 Emergency Response Fund.
