What is a Catalyst?

This is our bespoke programme for donors who wish to support Haemochromatosis UK with a one-off or recurring gift of £5,000 or more.

We rely upon the selfless giving of Catalysts to fund our most innovative programmes and sustain the long-term, strategically important aspects of our work.

Recent Catalyst programmes have included our General Practitioner Education Programme (delivered in collaboration with the Royal College of GPs). This programme - funded by Catalyst donors - has enabled us to design and deliver an innovative online eLearning course for primary care practitioners.

Primary care is under increasing strain. There are over 9,000 GP practices in the UK - with over 50,000 practising GPs. And yet many GPs are unaware of genetic haemochromatosis. Few know how to diagnose the condition or how to best support people affected.

Through our Catalyst-funded work, we've been able to train almost 500 General Practitioners in the first year of operation.

Could you help us by providing a donation to expand this work for a second year, to reach even more clinicians?
